The Battle of Liquid Eyeliners

Hello beauties,

You too dream to achieve that perfect wing and are after that go-to liquid eyeliner? Well, guess what? The hunt is over!!!

I have tried a bunch of eyeliners over the years and I finally found a couple of brands that are constantly making their way to my makeup drawers. Stila and Maybelline are my favourites when it comes to eyeliner essentials. On some days, I’d like a really dark, bold and sharp liner that would stand out from the rest of my makeup while  on other days, I’d be after a softer and more toned-down liner. So, I have shovelled in here a good mix of black and browns and below are some swatches for comparison.

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner
 Intense Black
Dark Brown

Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner
Noir-Black
Forest Brown

Maybelline Master Precise Curvy

A big shout-out to Stila, which really hit the nail on the head with their ‘stay all day waterproof’ claim. As I have hooded eyes, it is the liner that would not transfer to my upper lids and would stay in place all day, even in the hottest weather.  Also, don’t be bogged down by the waterproof claim as it does come off easily with micellar water or solid makeup remover, without much hard work. However, its price point is not the cheapest but it is absolutely worth every penny. If you're looking for a more budget-friendly option, I would highly recommend the Maybelline ones as they perform the same way but are not as long-lasting as the Stila. The nibs on the Maybelline are also more steady, allowing you to get that perfect flick.

While comparing brown liquid liners, the Stila pulls out more brown than the Maybelline in real life. I gone through probably six of the Stila, it’s so good! However, you have to be a bit careful with the Maybelline ones as they will transfer and whenever I tend to use them, I’d rather go for a thinner line and wing it at the edge (quick tip if you get my point here).

The latest addition is the Maybelline Master Precise Curvy.  I admit being quite sceptical about this concept. It is fat and takes relatively much space. But you got to trust me on this one as it clearly demarcates itself with its rather special nib. As it enables you to easily switch to the thinner and flatter edge, you can draw your liner and be out the door in no time. However, I would not say it is as good and non-transferrable as the Stila one, but thumbs up for its colour pay-off and application.

Hoping this will be helpful in your decision making process. Do leave me comments if you have any question.

Until next time for another beauty review. xx

Too Faced Haul - Sweet Peach Palette

Hi gorgeous makeup lovers,

I went crazy when the relaunch date of the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette was announced and I have been eyeing it ever since. If you've been following me recently, you would know that I have an obsession with peach and this was a palette I simply could not give a miss.

As a little treat to self, I also dropped the Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in the shade Sparkling Bellini in the shopping cart and got to admit, it is the most gorgeous blush I ever own.

No doubt, I fell head over heels when those products arrive. The palette does have a strong scent of sweet candied peach, which not many people will be a fan of, but the gorgeousness and pigmentation of the colours can make you look pass that. It has the right mix of matte and shimmers. However, I did experience a little bit of fall-out when using some shades and do reckon that this palette may not be everyone's cup of tea. But as a collector of makeup, it is a very nice, playful and ever so gorgeous palette to have in your kit. See below for swatches.

To me, this is not an everyday kind of blush because I personally do not always like much shimmer on my cheeks, especially during the day. However, I look forward to playing around with these products more and to create variations of peachy makeup looks. Hope you've enjoyed it and found this post somewhat helpful. Please do not hesitate to leave me your comments or queries if you have any, I'd be happy to get back to you.

I will see you soon with another beauty blog.
Take care xoxo

MAC Lipstick Collection & Swatches

Hello Gorgeous,

It's been a while I have been dreaming of having my own MAC lipstick collection. I reckon it's not a lot but it is just what I need for starters. To note that all below shades go really well with my skin tone (NC42).

Oops, I might have rearranged by lipsticks by shade tones, so please check the caption for ease of reference.

From Left to Right: Vegas Volt, Modesty, Patisserie, Jubilee, Mocha, Cosmo, Plumful, Diva
 The corresponding swatches:

As you may have noticed, I am a collector of pinks, purples and neutral shades. However, I recently started to switch to brighter colours such as Vegas Volt. I now enjoy incorporating coral shades into my daily makeup looks. Mocha is a muted coral on me and I love it on days where I just want something coral without my lips shouting CORAL. I find coral-ly shades just give a little bit of pep without being too much and is a great alternative for somebody who always leans towards pink. And once in a while, I do step out of my comfort zone and go for reds. Diva is such a lovely burgundy reddish colour and I do not know anyone who does not like it. It suits everyone, irrespective of skin tone, and I have been wearing it quite often this year, like other days other than Christmas and for me, it's a big deal!

I also look forward to trying Velvet Teddy, Mehr and Ruby Woo in the future. So stay tuned ;)

My Stila Crush - Countless Color Pigments in Encore

Hello Everyone,

Today I just thought of sharing the color pigment that I've been reaching for the most this week.

Yes, Im talking about the Stila Countless Color Pigments in the shade 'Encore'.

To me, this little compact really stood out from the entire collection. I completely fell in love with it at first sight and had to grab it. Besides, these are the combination of colours that I usually gravitate towards in any palette and having this trio in one single and little compact was a life-saver. It offers you so many possibilities, contains a lot of product, is easy to grab on the go, very travel friendly, well as you can probably tell, ticks all the right boxes.

Whenever I am using only this palette, the Rosy colour is just goes as a base all over the eye. The darker purple-ly/ mauvy can be used to intensify the crease or just the outer edge of the eye and create a smokey look for a night out.

And the lighter shade is just the gorgeous highlighter I've ever seen, that sometimes I wish I had it separately in an entire pan.  I like to pop it in the inner corners of the eye, or simply just dabbing it on the center of the eye, just to create a light-reflecting/ 3D effect to your eyelook or even under the brow bone (but be careful, can look a bit outdated since it's not matte but can work great if applied properly) .

What I love about this palette is that there're just really 'countless' ways you can play with it. Either combining two colours to create a different shade or just swirling your brush around also create a nice colour and if done well, this can also be used as a blush. However, this little compact can also be used in conjunction with other palettes and you can create amazing looks. But, I truly believe this palette is sufficient to go from day to night look and I always have to have it in my regular makeup bag, because you never know when a fancy date night can crop up.

Anyway,

I just hope that all of it made some sense to you,

I'd be glad to hear your views on the colour pigments or any other Stila product that you think I should try.

See you soon.

xx
